Confessions of a library cat

Hi, this is me, Dewey

Mary, the library boss, let me in at last. It’s freezing sleeping under the holly bush. She started her toast as usual but while it was cooking she cut the middle from a slice of bread and put it over my face.

After she had taken my picture she said it was purrfect and that it would go on the internet, what’s all that about? I’m going to look at www.breadedcats.com later.

When the library opened lots of people rushed in to use the computers, I think it’s because they are free to use, they are always busy.

What’s that caterwauling – oh yes, it’s all those babies being bounced around, no sleep for a while then. I forgot they come in every Tuesday morning.

Lunchtime has come round quickly, my favourite time of the day. I hope Mary’s opened a new tin of food for me, I can’t stand that cheap stuff.

Speaking of food, there is something called Yum this week. There will be lots of stalls in the town selling all sorts of food and drink. The library has a display of books for people to take and a competition where they can win a meal.

It’s the school holidays so there are loads of children around, laughing and telling jokes. This was the best one today:

What do you call a werewolf that drinks too much?
A whino!

They are getting prizes for reading books, I think it’s something to do with Creepy Houses, far too scary for me.

I think I’ll have a snooze before I get thrown out when the library closes and I visit my other friend down the street.

 Back soon with more gossip,
